Thai Yoga Therapy

Thai massage incorporates many different soft tissue manipulation techniques (massage, fascial release, chopping, and many more) with assisted stretches and meditation in order to achieve a deep state of relaxation. This modality of touch emphasizes that each physical body is different and has different needs, meaning that no two massages are ever exactly the same.
 
Treatments are generally performed on the floor on padded mats, with receivers fully clothed and without the use of oils. Intuition is a guiding force in our massage sessions, as is a thorough understanding of the human body. Coming from a highly trained background in fitness and health, I bring a special element to my Thai massage practice. I have an extensive knowledge of the body and have worked with a variety of clients throughout my career. My interest is to create the best therapeutic experience for each person as I possibly can. I can work with clients not only for relaxation but also from a fitness/wellness perspective to provide long term results.
 
What to wear:
 
For your comfort, please wear something similar to Yoga wear or clothing that isn't too bulky or restrictive. It is not recommended to wear shorts or tank tops, as the body tends to run cold during a massage. Sports bras are easier to work around to avoid clasps or you may elect to take your bra off under your shirt during the treatment. Please be prepared to remove any jewelry, particularly necklaces, that may inhibit treatment. Socks are also helpful to keep your feet warm.

Yoga Tune Up®

Yoga Tune Up® is a mindful body awareness program that helps us to bring attention to body blind spots which are areas that keep us from moving as optimally as we possibly can. With a strong influence from Yoga in body awareness, breathing techniques and systemic relaxation, Yoga Tune Up® will make your everyday activities even more functional and pleasurable. You are invited to come on a journey of anatomy and create an EmbodyMap for self care. Discover, uncover and recover your own body wisdom using the innovative, creative and personalized Yoga Tune Up® poses that will improve your overall strength, flexibility and coordination. It is time to Tune Up those old habits and return to balance.

 

Please note, despite the name this is not a "traditional" Yoga class. Please wear clothing that is comfortable to move in but not too loose or baggy that will prevent your ability to properly use the Therapy Balls. Be prepared to be on the floor and standing. If you have a Yoga mat, please bring one. I do have a few loaners but it is nice to have your own. I have Therapy Balls for you to use. Anyone is welcome to attend. No experience necessary. You do not need to be flexible or have Yoga experience.
